You love your family. You know you have a good life. You can look around and name a hundred things you wouldn't trade.
And still...
Something doesn't fit the way it used to.
Maybe you've noticed how much of your day happens almost automatically now.
The things you take care of.
The people you check on.
The plans you make.
The texts you answer.
The groceries you buy.
The appointments you remember.
The thousand little things that make a life run.
You're very good at it.
But somewhere in the middle of being the person who keeps all of those plates spinning, a surprisingly difficult question has started following you around:
What do I want now?
Not what do the kids need.
Not what would make the most sense.
Not what should I be doing with this stage of my life.
What do I want?
On Tuesday night, we're going to get underneath that question.
And if your mind goes strangely blank when you try to answer that question, I want you to come spend an hour with me.
On Tuesday night, we're going to get underneath that question.
Not with a personality test.
Not with a list of 37 hobbies you could try.
And definitely not by telling you that you need to “find your purpose.”
We're going to look at your actual life.
At what you're carrying.
At what you're doing because you still want to—and what you're doing because you've been doing it for so long you haven't stopped to ask.
At the parts of you that have had plenty of room to exist...
and the parts that may have been waiting quietly in the wings.
By the end of our time together, I want you to be able to see:
Where your life is still running on old instructions.
The roles, responsibilities and expectations that once made perfect sense, but may be shifting now.
What has been getting crowded out.
The wants, curiosities, preferences and pieces of yourself that are remarkably easy to lose track of when you've spent years being needed.
Why “What do I want?” can suddenly feel like such an impossible question.
And why not having an immediate answer doesn't mean you need to try harder to figure yourself out.
 Where to start.
We'll begin by separating what still belongs in your life from what you're ready to reconsider, and to notice what you might want to make room for next.
Â
You won't leave Tuesday night with a shiny new five-year plan.
Good.
I don't think that's what you need.
I want you to leave noticing things you weren't noticing when you logged on.
I want something you've been feeling—but haven't quite been able to name—to make more sense.
And I want you to have one very practical place to begin.
Why I'm doing this
I'm Jennifer Stanley.
And I've become a little obsessed with this particular moment in a woman's life.
Because we prepare women for almost every major transition that comes before it.
There are books and showers and ceremonies and checklists and people lining up to tell us what to expect.
And then we arrive here.
The kids begin needing us differently.
Relationships change.
Careers that once consumed us may not hold the same place.
Our bodies change.
Our priorities change.
We change.
And there is no ceremony for that.
No one pulls you aside and says:
“A lot of what you've built your identity around may start shifting now. You might feel restless. Or guilty. Or strangely numb. You might love your life and still find yourself wanting something you can't quite name.
Here's what is happening. And here's how you move through it.”
Mostly, we're just expected to figure it out.
That didn't sit right with me.
It's one of the reasons I created Intermission, and it's why I'm doing this workshop.
You don't have to decide what the rest of your life is supposed to look like Tuesday night.
But I would love to help you stop brushing past the feeling that something has changed.
Because it has.
Let's get curious about what it's trying to tell you.
If you've been quietly wondering whether you're the only one feeling this way, you're not.
Come spend an hour with me—and with other women who have been asking some of the same questions.
I'll see you Tuesday night.
